Ternivska city territorial community is located in the east of Dnipropetrovsk region in Pavlohrad district, 20 km from the city of Pavlohrad. The community includes the town of regional subordination Ternivka and the village Zelena Dolyna. Ternivka is a modern mining town, with a high educational and professional level. It is one of the first towns in the Western Donbass, which began providing coal to Ukraine.
According to the rating of “Institutional capacity and sustainable development of small and medium-sized communities” Ternivska TC is in the TOP-10 communities of Dnipropetrovsk region on the level of subsidization of budgets ̶ reverse subsidy is 10.3%.
The industrial infrastructure of the community is monofunctional and is represented by two mines “Ternivska” and “Zakhidno-Donbasska”, which are part of the production and structural subdivisions “Pavlohradske Mine Division” and “Ternivske Mine Division” PJSC “DTEK Pavlogradugol”, respectively. The majority of the working population of the city, namely 56%, work at the coal industry enterprises.
“Zakhidno-Donbasska” mine started its activity 42 years ago with an annual coal production of 560,000 tons. Over the past 11 years, DTEK has invested more than $150 mln in the development and modernization of the mine, increased production and reduced ash content by 1.7 times. Currently, it is the largest mine in the Western Donbass, a giant mine that produces a maximum of 2.5 million tons per year.
The design capacity of the Ternivska Mine is 1.4 million tons of coal per year. The main consumers are TPP, as well as industrial enterprises of Ukraine, CIS countries, Europe, Asia, North and South America, North Africa.
There are 683 registered business entities in Ternivska TC, including 40 enterprises and 643 individual entrepreneurs.
By type of economic activity, the largest number of economic entities, namely 43.6% are involved in trade, repair of automobiles, household goods and personal items, 21.5% provide utilities and individual services, work in the field of culture and sports. Real estate, renting, engineering and business services are carried out by 16.6% of entities.
The average monthly salary in the community is 15.7 thousd UAH and is one of the highest among the communities of the region.
The community sees as its strategic goal the development of light industry, processing and service industries, tourism, as the most effective way to diversify the local economy.
For the implementation of investment projects, the community offers available assets – 2 land plots with an area of 1.5 hectares and 6 real estate objects with a total area of 745.3 m².
