The military aggression against Ukraine of the aggressor country rf has affected the foreign economic activity of enterprises of the region, in particular in the sphere of services with the countries of the world.
The foreign trade turnover of services in 2022 decreased by 40% as compared to the previous period and amounted to $319.7 million (2.6% of the total foreign trade turnover of Ukraine). The foreign trade balance, as in previous years, is negative – $7.3 million, but decreased 6.6 times.
Exports in the services sector from Dnipropetrovsk region to the world in 2022 was $156.2 million (1.7% of total exports of Ukraine) and decreased by 37.6%
IT sector leads in the export of services ($80.4 million) with a share of 51.4%, which decreased by 9%. This is due to the extraterritoriality and easy mobility of the sector. Because of the breakdown of maritime logistics routes, the export of transportation services with a share of 17.6% decreased by almost 60% compared to last year and amounted to $27.4 million. Third place is taken by business services – $24.5 million (15.7%), which decreased by almost 35%.
Compared with last year, only the exports of innovative services, including research and development increased 2.2 times and amounted to $ 2.7 million
Imports of services to Dnipropetrovsk region in 2022 from around the world amounted to $163.5 million (2.7% of Ukraine’s imports) and decreased by 44.8% compared to 2021.
Redistribution of transport flows to the EU countries formed more than half of the import of transportation services. Imports of these services increased by 6.6% and amounted to $90.6 million. The second place in the structure of imports is occupied by intellectual property services – $28.7 million (17.6%). Imports of these services decreased by more than 70%. Imports of services related to financial activities decreased by 32.6% compared to the previous year and amounted to $17.7 million (10.8%).
