“Ukrtruboizol” in Dnipropetrovsk region has launched production of plastic pipes for water mains and heating networks of housing and communal services.
According to Dmytro Kysylevskyi, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development, Ukrtruboizol is Ukraine’s largest producer of large-diameter longitudinal SAW steel pipes (426-1422 mm) with anti-corrosion external and internal coatings.
It is reported that the design capacity of the shop is to produce 1200 mm diameter polyethylene pipes with an output of up to 3.5 km per month, as well as 133 mm diameter pre-insulated pipes with an output of 12 km per month. The shop will employ 30 people.
The total investment in the project is more than UAH 150 million, including a 1.3 MW solar power plant that will supply the new shop with electricity.
The project to build Ukrtruboizol’s new shop was partially financed by the government’s 5-7-9 affordable loan program.
Dmytro Kysylevskyi emphasized that only a few companies produce large-diameter pipes in Ukraine, and public procurement accounts for a significant part of the market. Therefore, it is important for Ukraine to protect its producers from subsidized imports from China, Turkey and other countries.
