Strengthening cooperation for communities’ development: signing of a Memorandum between the Association of Territorial Communities and the Dnipropetrivsk Investment Agency

The Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency (DIA) actively cooperates with local communities in Dnipropetrovsk region, focusing on creating a concept of investment marketing for the territories.  The DIA experts focused on studying the investment potential and developing investment profiles of the region’s communities, which were passed on to them to promote investment benefits and presented on the region’s Investment Portal.

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, DIA has focused its activities on building a database of housing projects for internally displaced persons.

Unfortunately, the war continues, but the DIA is forming and updating a portfolio of recovery projects from local communities and investment proposals from businesses to attract partners and investors, which is also a joint effort of the Agency and communities.

Territorial communities are a key investment component of the region, actively working on local development programmes and strategies. However, there are questions that need to be answered, for example:

  • Which industries are a priority for the community and which could become new areas of development?
  • How do communities develop and promote investment proposals and projects?
  • Do communities have local preferences and investment resources?

In order to develop effective solutions to these issues, on 1 February 2024, the Dnipro Regional Investment Agency and the All-Ukrainian Association of Local Governments “Association of Territorial Communities” signed a memorandum that aims to combine the experience and capabilities of both parties.

“The signing of the Memorandum is a significant step towards establishing mutually beneficial cooperation between our investment agency and the association. We will work together on development projects and recovery programmes, attracting foreign investors and promoting local business,” Mykola Lukashuk, Chairman of the Regional Council, said.

Valentyna Zatyshniak, DIA’s Director, said: “The cooperation between DIA and the Association of Amalgamated Territorial Communities defines a new stage in the development of the region, where joint efforts will lead to positive changes and stimulate investment development.”
