Ukraine ranked 20th in the ranking of the international association Worldsteel in terms of steel production in 2024.

According to it, according to the results of production in 2024, Ukraine ranked 20th among 71 steel-producing countries with a result of 7.58 million tons, which is 21.64% higher than in 2023.

In 2024, world steel production decreased by 0.91% to 1,839.45 million tons compared to 2023 (in 2023 – 1,856.26 million tons).

The first place traditionally belongs to China: Chinese metallurgists smelted 1,005.09 million tons of steel in 2024, which is 1.70% lower than in 2023.

China’s share in global steel production is 54.6%.

Second place belongs to India (production increased by 6.27% to 149.6 million tons), third place – Japan (decreased by 3.44% to 84 million tons), fourth – the USA (decreased by 2.38% to 79.5 million tons), sixth – South Korea (decreased by 4.73% to 63.5 million tons), seventh – Germany (increased by 5.20% to 37.2 million tons), eighth – Turkey (increased by 9.43% to 36.9 million tons), ninth – Brazil (increased by 5.34% to 33.7 million tons), tenth – Iran (decreased by 0.83% to 31 million tons).
