Dnipropetrovsk Regional Investment Agency (DIA) has initiated a series of workshops for communities in the newly formed districts of Dnipropetrovsk region.
Communities of the Dniprovskyi district became participants in the first seminar, which took place on June 10, 2021. The event was joined by Svitlana Ponomarova, Deputy Head of the Department of Electronic Services of the State Institution of the State Tax Service in the Dnipropetrovsk Region, and Natalia Osadcha, Doctor of Economics, Institute of Industrial Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Starting the event, Valentyna Zatyshniak, Director of DIA, noted that in conditions of competitive territories it is very important to focus on global goals and act locally. Local preferences and open community data are effective tools for achieving their sustainable development.
Natalia Osadcha focused on the importance of the Law “On State Support for Investment Projects with Significant Investments”: “The adoption of the document is a positive signal for investors. It will stimulate the attraction of strategic investments to the national economy. It will also ensure a high level of competitiveness of the economy by introducing state support for large investment projects.”
Svitlana Ponomarova presented to the audience the project “Geoportal of the State Tax Service of Ukraine”, which is aimed at the automatic formation of databases for each community, in the context of the types of taxes received by local budgets, industries and economic objects. This resource will provide communities with additional tools for strategic planning and control over the payment of taxes and fees.
In the main part of the seminar, the participants were presented with a general description of the newly created Dniprovskyi district.

The practical part of the seminar, exchange of experience and successful stories of introducing local preferences aroused particular interest and lively discussion among the participants. In addition, the participants were interested in the DIA resources (DIA portal, DIAmap, DIAgram), which they can use to promote their own territories and obtain information about the region as a whole in open data format.

Support of this status is possible on the basis of joining efforts with territorial communities, promoting success stories and openness of communities to cooperation. The DIA experience shows the high efficiency of such events, because in this way everyone present has the opportunity to communicate offline with colleagues, discuss problematic issues, exchange experiences, generate ideas, and possibly, in the future, implement inter-municipal cooperation projects. And we, as an Investment Agency, are committed to active further cooperation in the “Agency-Community” format,” – Valentyna Zatyshniak summed up.
