The production of sinter ore for 12 months of 2022 decreased by 33.3% y/y
In 2022, Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant (KZHRK) reduced the production of underground iron ore by 33.3% compared to the same period last year – to 2.888 million tons. This is stated in the company’s corporate newspaper.
In the 12 months of 2022, the Ternivska mine produced 770,000 tons of marketable iron ore (-34% y/y), Kozatska – 783,000 tons (-29.1% y/y), Pokrovska – 582 thousand tons (-10.2% y/y), and Kryvorizka – 753 thousand tons (-46.6% y/y).
In December 2022, the plant produced 129,000 tons of sinter ore, which is 63.7% less than in December 2021, including:
- mine Ternivska – 30 thousand tons (-70% y/y);
- Kozatska – 40 thousand tons (-60%);
- Pokrovska – 15 thousand tons (-72.7%);
- Kryvorizka – 44 thousand tons (-56%).
The company’s plan for the production of commercial iron ore in November 2022 was fulfilled by 86%, and in 12 months of 2022 – by 87.3%.
The structure of the enterprise includes four mines. Balance reserves amount to 210 million tons of rich iron ores with an average iron content in the rock of 58.6%.
KZHRK in 2021 decreased production of commercial iron ore by 12.8% compared to 2020 – to 4.3 million tons.
Also, the pre-war plans of the enterprise for 2022 predicted an increase in the production of commercial iron ore with an iron content of 58.94% by 8.6% compared to 2021 – up to 4.67 million tons.
Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant (KZRK) is the largest producer of sinter ore in Ukraine. Most of its production volume is exported to Eastern Europe. KZHRK operates four underground mines. Its reserves amount to 210 million tons of rich iron ores, 58.6% Fe.
