DMZ produced 5.5 thousand tonnes of steel products in July

As part of its July rolling campaign, the Dnipro Metallurgical Plant (DMZ) produced 5.5 thousand tonnes of steel products at Rolling Mill No. 2 (RM-2).

The range produced comprises the plant’s standard product line: 125 angle bars, and 14, 18, 20, 22, 24 and 30 channel sections.

The production cycle ran from 17 to 25 July. For the first time, all 12-metre billets received by the plant were cut to length in Rolling Mill No. 2. During the two previous campaigns, the workshop handled the cutting of half the volume, whilst the remainder was supplied by the supplier already cut to length.

Yuriy Mykhailiv, Director of Production and Technology at DMZ, assessed the campaign as generally successful. However, forced stoppages of equipment occurred due to voltage drops in the power grid resulting from military operations.

Mykhailiv reported that the plant operated within its planned gas consumption limits and metal consumption ratio. In addition, a new batch of imported rolls, which the plant received in May, was tested.

A significant portion of the rolled steel produced in July has already been shipped to the customer. The next rolling campaign is scheduled for September–October.

It should be noted that the Dnipro Metallurgical Plant recently successfully passed the annual surveillance audit of its factory production control system for hot-rolled steel, confirming its compliance with the requirements of the EU Construction Products Regulation. The company has received confirmation that its certificate has been extended for a further year.
