EBRD announces a tender for the resumption of subway construction in Dnipro

The EBRD has announced a tender for the selection of new contractors for design and construction works to complete the contract for the completion of 4 km of the Dnipro Metro lines.

The EBRD is also considering expanding its financing for the project. In close cooperation with the Bank, Dnipro Metro is conducting market consultations with potential contractors to develop an optimal procurement and implementation strategy. The main purpose of such consultations is to find out the market’s risk appetite in the context of the current situation in Ukraine, as well as to enable companies that are potentially interested in participating in the new tender to provide feedback and express their positions.

Contractors must submit their applications for participation in the project no later than June 21, 2024.

For reference: The Dnipro subway, which has been operating since 1995, consists of six stations located on one line, which is 8 km long. Since 2016, Limak has started construction of three new stations. A €304 million construction loan was provided by the EBRD. The construction was scheduled to be completed in 2021, but the deadline was postponed to March 2023. In 2022, the company wrapped up construction, taking away personnel, equipment and documents.
