Small grants programme for social service providers expanded to all communities in Ukraine

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to extend the Small Grants Programme for social service providers and has raised the maximum grant amount to USD 65,000.

The following services have been added to the list of services eligible for grant funding:

  • reintegration of children and families who have returned after deportation or forced displacement, or from the temporarily occupied territories;
  • emergency (crisis) intervention;
  • respite care for foster parents and family-type children’s home parents caring for children with disabilities;
  • day care for children with disabilities, with no restrictions on the disability subgroup.

The Small Grants Programme operates in 10 oblasts and Kyiv, with 130 territorial communities (hromadas) taking part in the project.

Since the project began, almost 57,000 people have received social services. The small grants have helped communities introduce new services and expand existing ones. Now it is important to scale up this experience so that support becomes available to more families.

The project is implemented with the support of the UK Government under the SPIRIT programme, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, the Fund for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities, and UNICEF Ukraine.

The project is administered by ISAR Ednannia.
