Doing business
Under the terms of the agreement, the company will invest another $4.5 million through loans from Ukrainian banks and its own resources.
The grant funding is provided as part of the Project’s support for Ukrainian businesses affected by the war. The funds will allow Suziria Group to launch its own wet pet food production in Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, where it moved its grain feed production after the rocket attacks on Kharkiv and where it started making meat treats for dogs and cats. At the same time, some of the production facilities in Kharkiv continue to operate.
Thanks to the Project’s support and the launch of a new wet pet food production line, Suziria Group will be able to increase its production capacity, create 130 new jobs and significantly reduce production costs. The company plans to use the increase in production to expand its market share by cooperating with Ukrainian suppliers of raw materials and key retail chains, for which it will produce wet pet food under their own brands.
Currently, Suziria Group’s wet pet food is produced at partner facilities in the EU. The development of its own production will allow it to gradually abandon imports of this product category and expand its sales geography. In three years, Suziria Group plans to start exporting wet pet food to the European market.
