The international conference “UKRAINE NEXT: DNIPRO 2026” on Ukraine reconstruction for investors, corporations and investment institutions was held on 9 September 2026 in Dnipro. The event was organized by the consulting company NC+ and the law firms Hillmont Partners and Akin, with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ukraine, the American Chamber of Commerce and the INSPIRA Business Club as partners.
Experts from Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency (DIA) took part in a discussion on the resilience and investment recovery of the Dnipropetrovsk region as an industrial hub operating on the front line and overcoming the daily trials of war.
The discussion focused on the region’s position as a strategic opportunity for emerging markets and its role in global investment portfolios. Participants considered options for international investors to gain access to the growing industrial capacities and supply chains of the region.
The conference identified practical tools that make investing in Ukraine possible today, promising areas of cooperation, and issues related to supporting economic stability in wartime conditions. Participants also discussed cooperation between local authorities, international partners and private investors aimed at supporting economic activity and long-term cooperation.
Considerable attention was devoted to discussing Ukraine’s path to EU accession and how this could strengthen resilience amid geopolitical change and accelerate regulatory and institutional reforms of Europe.
Kristina Mikulova, Head of Regional Hub for Eastern Europe at the European Investment Bank (EIB), spoke about the bank’s priority focus on frontline territories. According to her, a significant part of the work is aimed at improving people’s everyday lives. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the European Investment Bank has already invested more than €117 million, and this is only the beginning of cooperation that is planned to be scaled up with the involvement of private-sector partners.
In turn, Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency (DIA) presented the opportunities of the region, including existing industrial parks and sites available for their creation, as well as investment projects initiated by the region’s municipalities and companies. Panel participants discussed practical mechanisms for protecting investments in wartime conditions, investment insurance and guarantee instruments, and experience in attracting partners to implement projects in regions located in close proximity to combat operations. Among the key messages was the acknowledgment of the existing risks to implementing projects, especially those involving construction during the active phase of the war, but this does not reduce the possibility of completing the preparatory and design stages so that a project can be launched once security conditions are favorable. In addition, projects aimed at ensuring the safety of personnel and the population should be implemented already today.
The “UKRAINE NEXT: DNIPRO 2026” conference became an important platform for the international community, where the needs of businesses in frontline territories were presented. As Member of the European Parliament Ondřej Krutílek noted, frontline regions are of great importance for the resilience of both Ukraine and Europe as a whole, and personal attendance at such events makes it possible to better understand the specific needs of a particular region.
