Interpipe, a global manufacturer of steel pipes and railway products based in Ukraine, is steadily expanding its presence in the European pipe market by delivering products that meet the highest technical standards for customers’ specialized projects.

One such project is underway in Italy, in the Pisa area of Tuscany, where we have begun delivering 127mm OCTG seamless casing, manufactured in accordance with API 5CT standard, for use in the salt mining industry.

Salt extraction from deposits in the Tuscany region has a rich history counted in hundreds of years, with industrial-scale production deeply rooted in the area. The extraction process begins with the drilling of relatively shallow wells, which are designed with OCTG seamless casing and tubing pipes made from steel with the necessary strength and corrosion resistance to be used in the highly aggressive conditions of the environment.

Bartłomiej Kania, OCTG Sales Manager for Continental Europe: In recent years, Interpipe has established the European market as a true home market. The Company has mastered and delivered over 250 new types of pipe products across all its divisions to meet the needs of EU customers. It continues to demonstrate Interpipe’s ability to provide tailored solutions for the most demanding applications — including drilling in highly corrosive and aggressive environments, such as salt mining operations in Italy used to extract ultra-pure salt for the pharmaceutical and agri-food sectors.
