Ukraine increased its egg exports by 77% in 2025

In 2025, exports of chicken eggs increased by 77% year-on-year to 137.5 thousand tonnes, compared with 2024, according to the Grain Exchange.

Of this volume, 73.3% was purchased by EU countries, 12.7% by other European countries, 8% by Middle Eastern countries, 3.2% by Southeast Asian countries, and 2.8% by other regions.

The growth in exports was driven by strong demand from the EU and Ukraine’s geographical proximity to key buyers.

In 2025, egg production in Ukraine decreased by 0.5% compared with the previous year, reaching 11,434 million eggs, which is 13% below the five-year average.

At the same time, the share of industrial enterprises in total production increased to 54%, or 6,085 million eggs, while the share of household production declined to 46%, falling from 5,531 million to 5,349 million eggs.

Exports of egg products in 2025 increased by only 3% year-on-year to 7.8 thousand tonnes, of which 95.3% was supplied to the EU.
