Dnipropetrovsk region remains one of the key frontline regions of Ukraine and continues to hold its position in terms of investment potential. The region has attracted $5.6 billion in foreign investment and accounts for over 11% of Ukraine’s GDP. According to the fDi Strategy Awards, Dnipropetrovsk region is among the TOP 10 medium-sized European regions of the future. This confirms the presence of the region on leading international investment platforms.
On May 28–29, 2026, the V Foreign Investment Congress was held in Kyiv, where the Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency (DIA) participated and had the opportunity to present the investment potential of the region, its advantages, and key indicators.
The Foreign Investment Congress is an international investment platform whose mission is to bring together global capital and key stakeholders to mobilize the private sector in support of Ukraine’s recovery, modernization, and reconstruction.
The congress this year brought together over 400 participants from more than 37 countries, including foreign investors and representatives of international business, local communities and regional businesses, international financial institutions, as well as representatives of the Ukrainian government and diplomatic missions.
The event included more than 25 discussions covering 15 strategic sectors: from energy and defense technologies to the agricultural sector, the digital economy, and healthcare.
During the discussion “From construction site to investment magnet: Does the community have a development strategy that attracts capital, creates value for investors, and transforms this into community development and prosperity?” DIA presented the region’s position in a Q&A format regarding key specializations and competitive advantages for investors, financial and non-financial incentives, infrastructure readiness, and administrative support for projects.
In the regional pitching session “Presentation of investment projects: Investment-ready opportunities in priority sectors. Investment Opportunities and Projects of Local Communities,” the agency presented the investment profile of the Dnipropetrovsk region: available assets, production base, human resources, opportunities for public-private partnerships, and specific projects ready for implementation. Among the priority sectors that DIA highlighted for potential investors are: electric transport and the modernization of transport infrastructure, agricultural machinery, renewable energy for industry, the production of construction materials, residential construction, as well as medical technologies and prosthetics.
This event has confirmed once again that a strong presentation of the region is not just about locations and statistics, but also an invitation to partnership. The region’s investment potential depends on its ability to speak to investors in terms of concrete opportunities: prepared assets, human resources, existing businesses, and projects with transparent terms.
An important event during the V Foreign Investment Congress was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Investment Agency (DIA) and the Ukraine Investment Promotion Office (UkraineInvest). The document defines the main areas of cooperation between the parties, aimed at improving the investment climate and attracting investment into Ukraine’s economy, communicating information about current investment opportunities to foreign investors, selecting investment offers at the request of investors, developing new investment proposals, and supporting the implementation of investment projects. This event is an important step in strengthening institutional cooperation at the national and regional levels and opens up new opportunities for the systematic promotion of the Dnipropetrovsk region as an attractive investment location at the international level.
