35% of Ukraine’s generating capacity was located in the occupied territories

As a result of the Russian aggression more than 50% of heat capacities, 30% of solar and more than 90% of wind are disabled

About 35% of Ukraine’s generating capacity ended up in the temporarily occupied territories as a result of Russian aggression. This was reported by Energobusiness with reference to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

In addition, as a result of the Russian invasion, more than 50% of heat capacity, 30% of solar and more than 90% of wind generation were disabled.

It is noted that 650 thousand consumers do not have access to electricity, and 180 thousand households – to gas.

It will be recalled that as of May 25, the KSE Institute estimates the amount of direct documented damage to Ukraine’s infrastructure from Russian aggression at $105.5 billion, or up to UAH 3.1 trillion.

Infrastructural destruction since the beginning of Russia’s war against Ukraine includes: 23.8 thousand km of roads, 6.3 thousand km of railways, 41 railway bridges, 643 medical institutions, 1.12 thousand educational institutions, 621 kindergartens, 192 cultural and 115 religious buildings, 178 warehouses, 99 administrative buildings, 28 oil depots, 19 shopping centers.

The total losses of Ukraine’s economy due to the war, according to the Ministry of Economy and KSE, taking into account direct and indirect losses, are estimated at $564 billion – $600 billion.
