On July 29, the Government approved the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on cooperation in the food safety sector, concluded in Kiev on January 14, 2022.

In accordance with this agreement, the main areas of cooperation between the parties are:

• the promotion of bilateral trade by simplifying procedures for import, export, transit and re-export of food products;
• exchange of experience in the field of food safety;
• bilateral harmonization of international certificates for food products.

The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumers Protection is responsible for implementing the provisions of the Agreement.

The implementation of the Agreement will enhance and establish bilateral trade between Ukraine and the Republic of Azerbaijan, diversify markets, open up new opportunities for Ukrainian business and strengthen ties between two countries.
