Capital investment in Ukraine for January–June 2026 totalled 307.9 billion UAH, an increase of 9.9% compared with the same period last year.
More than a third (39.5%) of the total value of capital investment made in the first half of the year was accounted for by industry (121.5 billion UAH), whilst 11.4% (35.0 billion UAH) went to agriculture, forestry and fisheries. The trade sector received 9.6% of capital investment (UAH 29.6 billion) between January and June. The construction sector received 8.5% of capital investment (UAH 26.2 billion).
The vast majority of investment was concentrated in tangible assets – 94.5% of the total. In particular, the largest share of funds was invested in machinery, equipment and fixtures (36.1%) and civil engineering structures (22.4%).
Almost 42% of capital investment (128.5 billion hryvnias) was made in Kyiv.
The volume of capital investment in Ukraine in 2025 rose by 20.3% year-on-year to 893.6 billion UAH. A significant proportion of capital investment was concentrated in industry — 36.6% (UAH 327.1 billion), agriculture, forestry and fisheries — 12% (UAH 107.3 billion), transport and warehousing — 9.5% (UAH 84.8 billion), and public administration and defence — 7.9% (UAH 70.3 billion).
It should be noted that the State Statistics Service estimated that Ukraine’s real GDP grew by 0.6% in the second quarter compared with the same period last year. Compared with the previous quarter, and taking seasonal factors into account, real GDP rose by 0.4%.
