The foreign trade turnover of services with the countries of the world in the 1^st quarter of 2019 amounted to $ 81.7 million and had a deficit of $ 17.9 million (the surplus was positive – $ 2.1 million in the 1st quarter 2018).

Exports of services from Dnipropetrovsk region to the countries of the world in the 1st quarter of 2019 amounted to $ 31.9 million (1.1% of the Ukrainian rate), which increased by 3.6% as to the last year. It should be noted that exports to the EU countries increased by almost 36% as to the corresponding period of the last year and amounted to more than half of the total exports value of services in the region ($ 16.6 million).

Export transactions to the countries of the world were carried out by enterprises from Dnipro by 89.6% ($ 28.3 million), from Kryvyi Rih by 5.8% ($ 1.85 million), from Kamianske by 1.8% ($ 577 thousand) and from Dnipro region ($574.2 million), from Pavlohrad by 1% ($ 97.6 thousand).

Computer services were exported the most, amounted to $ 13.1 million (41.1% of total exports), transport services amounted to $ 7.7 million (24.2%), business services exported by $ 4.9 million (15.5%), travel services by $3 million (9.4%).

The following positions of the services export value increased for the 1^st quarter of 2019:

• Maritime transport services – by 3.5 times and amounted to $ 252.8 thousand;
• Construction services – by 90 times, amounted to $ 118 thousand;
• Financial services –by 2.8 times, amounted to $ 608.7 thousand;
• Professional and consulting services – by 2.3 times, amounted to 1173.8 thousand.

TOP-5 countries of the global consumer services in the region:

• The US – $ 6.7 million, increased by 21.4%, compared to the 1^st quarter of the last year;
• Cyprus – $ 4.3 million, increased by 54.3%;
• The Russian Federation – $ 3.9 million and decreased by 51.1%;
• Denmark – $ 2.2 million and increased by 6.5%;
• Germany – $ 1.7 million, but increased by 21.8%.

The provision of services from Dnipropetrovsk region to the following countries has considerably increased:

• Bulgaria – by 9 times and amounted to $ 197.4 thousand;
• Georgia – by 5 times and amounted to $ 44 thousand;
• Estonia – by 3.8 times and amounted to $ 477,1 thousand;
• Poland – by 2.6 times and amounted to $ 528.7 thousand;
• Belgium – by 2.5 times and amounted to $ 683.9 thousand.

Imports of world-wide services to Dnipropetrovsk region has increased by 73.7% compared to the same period of the last year and amounted to $ 49.8 million, which is 3.6% of the total Ukrainian rate. The region is the second among the regions of Ukraine import value. Imports from the EU increased by 2.5 times compared to the corresponding period of the last year and amounted to 86.4% of the total import of the region ($ 43.0 million).

Kryvyi Rih imported the largest number of foreign services, $ 23.9 million (48% of the total imports value of services in the region). 33.6% of the import services accounted for Dnipro – $ 16.7 million. Dniprovsky district imported services for $ 6.5 million (13.1%). Also, services were imported to Kamianske, Nikopol, Verkhnodniprovsk, Synelnykovo and Solonianskyi districts.

Dnipropetrovsk region purchased the most:

• Royalty and other intellectual property services for $ 21 million, the import of which increased fourfold compared to the corresponding period of the last year and amounted to 42,3% of the total import value of the region;
• Transport services for $ 10.6 million, imports of which increased by 5.2% and amounted to 21.2% of the total import value of the region;
• Business services for $ 9.0 million, import increased by 55.8% and amounted to 18.1%.

Imports increased significantly in the following items:

• Air transport services – $ 246.3 thousand, increased by 3 times;
• Road transport services – $ 5010,7 thousand, increased by 2,5 times;
• Research and development services – $ 217.1 thousand, increased by 3.3 times;
• Professional and consulting services – $ 5429.3 thousand, increased by 3.1 times.

China is the leader among the countries of the world in import services to Dnipropetrovsk region, imports increased by 34% compared to the 1^st quarter of 2018 and amounted to $ 6.2 million. Germany is the second importer; imports increased by 64.4% and amounted to $ 4.9 million. Latvia is the third; imports increased by 5.6 times and amounted to $ 2.1 million.

Countries that significantly increased the import of services in the region:

• The United Arab Emirates – by 19 times, imports value amounted to $ 688.4 thousand;
• India – by 13.5 times and amounted to $ 73.3 thousand;
• The Czech Republic – by 12.3 times and amounted to $ 1,277.4 ths;
• Italy – by 9.5 times and amounted to $ 862.3 thousand;

Foreign trade operations were conducted with partners from 121 countries.
