Government has improved the eRobota business grant support programs

The eRobota grant programs introduced last year continue to operate. The Government has amended the procedure for providing microgrants and grants for the development of horticulture and greenhouse farming to ensure stable funding for the programs and their sustainable implementation. The relevant decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on January 17.

“The eRobota business support grant programs, which allow entrepreneurs to receive non-refundable assistance from the state to start or develop their business, are very popular. Last year, more than 2,500 entrepreneurs took advantage of them and received a total of UAH 1.56 billion in grants. We are continuing these programs this year, as they not only stimulate entrepreneurship but also improve the labor market, as a prerequisite for providing grants is the creation of new jobs by the entrepreneur,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy.

In particular, the Government’s decision amended the grant support programs (microgrants for business, grants for the development of gardens and greenhouses), which provide for the following:

  • designation of the funds of the Compulsory State Unemployment Insurance Fund as the primary source of funding for microgrants, which will ensure the stability of the program’s financing;
  • payment of grants to recipients, the decision on which was made in 2022, from the general fund of the state budget in 2023 or at the expense of the Fund of Compulsory State Unemployment Insurance Fund;
  • enabling grant recipients for gardens or greenhouses, the decision on which was made in 2022, to choose the method of receiving the grant (in full in one payment or in installments).

As a reminder, the eRobota project includes grant programs aimed at stimulating entrepreneurial activity. In particular, these are microgrant programs for starting or developing your own business, grants for the creation and development of processing enterprises, planting a garden and viticulture, and greenhouse farming. Applications for all directions of the eRobota program are submitted through the Diia portal.
