As of the beginning of September 2026, stocks of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine amounted to 24.6 million tonnes. Over the year, they increased by 10.1 million tonnes.
At the beginning of September, agricultural enterprises stored 18.4 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, which is 64.4% more than a year earlier. Another 6.2 million tonnes were held by enterprises engaged in the processing and storage of products. Their stocks grew by 88.4% over the year.
Among grain crops, wheat accounted for the largest volume stored in Ukraine — 14.6 million tonnes. Compared to 1 September 2025, its stocks increased by 31.6%. Corn stocks amounted to 2.8 million tonnes, which is 2.1 times higher than last year’s figure. Barley stocks stood at 2.5 million tonnes — 83.7% more year-on-year. Rye stocks reached 166.9 thousand tonnes, having increased 2.1 times over the year.
At the same time, stocks of some types of oilseed crops declined. In particular, 363.5 thousand tonnes of soybeans remained at the beginning of September, which is 8.4% less than a year earlier. Sunflower seed stocks decreased by 6.6% — to 768.2 thousand tonnes.
The growth in grain stocks is taking place against the backdrop of a difficult export situation and logistics problems. Earlier, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy decided to verify information about possible restrictions by Polish customs on the storage of Ukrainian grain transiting to third countries.
