On January 26, 2018 Glib Prigunov, the Chairman of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, officially opens a solar power plant in Nikopol city

The solar power plant construction project was initiated by Ekotechnik Nikopol LLC, and since 2013 it is supported by the Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency (DIA).

On January 26, 2018, the official opening of the solar power plant (SPP) in Nikopol city will be held. This is the first investment that was realized within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Canada.

In 2017 the Canadian company TIU Canada Ltd acquired a significant part in Ekotechnik Nikopol LLC and acted as an investor in the construction of the SPP. The construction of the SPP began in June 2017.

The project was financed within the credit program of JSB Ukrgasbank. The international company Helios Strategia was chosen as the general contractor for the SPP construction.

The solar plant consists of 32304 solar panels, each with a power of 0.32 kW and 392 inverters. More than 105 kilometers of cables were laid during construction. The SPP is located on an area of 15 hectares, its capacity is 10.7 MW, the investment amount is about EUR 12 mln.

The opening of the SPP will take place in Nikopol city. The event will be attended by the Chairman of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine, representatives of regional authorities, investor company, Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency, State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, JSB Ukrgazbank, Mayor of Nikopol city and Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant management.
