Meeting with the Political advisers to the Embassies of the European Union member states to Dnipropetrovsk region

On June 12, 2019, meeting with the Political Advisers of the Embassies of the EU member states was held. The aim of the meeting was to present to the EU partners the development dynamics of the region. Della Piazza Fabio, Head of the Political Section of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine. Versailles Michael, Political Adviser to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Ukraine, expressed interest in commodity circulation between EU and Ukraine, investment potential, export / import of Dnipropetrovsk region.

Anna Kovalchuk, specialist of marketing and communication department of the Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency (DIA), highlighted the investment potential and key peculiarities of Dnipropetrovsk region. The activity of the agency and its results were presented.

“DIA has many years of experience in supporting investors in the region. The main task of our Agency is to assist investors in implementing projects in the region. During the existence of DIA its services were used by more than 70 companies, both foreign and domestic, 35 large foreign companies, have already successfully carried out their activity in our region. Dnipropetrovsk region is considered to be one of the most promising, industrial and developed centers of Ukraine with a strong production potential and one of the main labor markets in Ukraine, where 1.5 million people (8.5%) of economically active population are concentrated. According to the scientific potential, our region confidently occupies one of the first places in Ukraine. In most of leading higher education institutions of Dnipropetrovsk region there are English-language training programs for professionals of different specialties. Education institutions are open to work with employers through the training of relevant skilled workers. It should be noted that Dnipropetrovsk region is in the first place in:

  • realized industrial production (in Ukraine);
  • capital investment;
  • foreign direct investment;
  • export of goods.

Almost half of all goods sold in the region are industrial goods, which provide almost 20% of all sold industrial products in Ukraine. The service sector is in the second place with an index of just over 40% (almost 9%). Agriculture is with an indicator of 6%. Construction is 3% “.
