Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency (DIA) had the honour of holding a meeting led by the Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council Mykola Lukashuk with Matthias Morgner, Deputy Project Manager of the “KRYTSIA: Support for Recovery of Kryvyi Rih Raion” project.
This is a comprehensive initiative planned to last 5 years and with a budget of over €57 million. Its main goal is to promote the region’s economic development and strengthen the capacity of local governments. The project team helps communities develop modern approaches to governance, trains specialists, and supports strategic planning and the engagement of international partners so that the Kryvyi Rih region can grow as a strong and cohesive agglomeration.
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation and the implementation of new joint projects. In addition, considered next steps and joint initiatives that could benefit communities of the region.
The “KRYTSYA” project is funded by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by LuxDev in partnership with PROMAN and BDF as part of intergovernmental cooperation between Ukraine and Luxembourg.
Partners have already provided Kryvyi Rih with 50 generators, 73 solar power systems, and 167 mobile charging stations. Entrepreneurs received 200 grants totaling €2.7 million to support business development. In addition, bomb shelters was provided for more than 11000 children, who were able to return to classroom learning.
