The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has announced new investment decisions for Ukraine in two strategic areas: energy and digital infrastructure. This decision will strengthen the protection of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure and energy security.
The decision to invest in Ukrainian energy and telecommunications infrastructure confirms Ukraine’s significant investment potential even amid the full-scale war. The country has a strong private sector and projects that international capital is ready to enter today. The main task is to maintain this dialogue and to shape a high-quality investment offering.
In particular, DFC will provide financing to Vodafone Ukraine to strengthen and modernise critical telecommunications infrastructure. This will also ensure the introduction of reliable technologies into Ukraine’s digital infrastructure.
In addition, DFC financing will support a portfolio of energy storage systems (batteries) with a total capacity of 200 MW / 400 MWh, located at six sites in Ukraine, which will increase the resilience and stability of the power grid. Such measures will help strengthen the resilience of the energy system and will be able to supply electricity to 600 thousand households for two hours.
The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is the development finance institution of the United States Government.
