Ukraine will sign a framework program for partnership with the UN

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the signing of the Framework Program of Partnership with the United Nations for 2018-2022.

The framework envisages the signing of a new strategic document for five years for further funding by UN agencies, funds and programs.

In particular, the UN will provide assistance to Ukraine in four partnership areas:

  • Sustainable economic growth, environment and employment.
  • Equal access to quality and inclusive services and social protection.
  • Democratic governance, the rule of law and public participation.
  • Security of citizens, social unity and the reconstruction of the country.

On the implementation of the Framework Program it is planned to attract USD 675.6 million.

At the meeting on October, 18, 2017, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the signing of the Framework Partnership Program with the United Nations for 2018-2022.

The agreement is scheduled to be signed on October, 24, 2017. The powers to sign it from Ukraine are granted to Stepan Kubiv, Minister of Economic Development and Trade.

The signing of the agreement should take place during the UN week dedicated to the UN Day, which is celebrated on October, 24, 2017, in view of 25th anniversary celebration this year of the UN in Ukraine.
