Doing business
On March 17, Valentyna Zatyshniak, director of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Investment Agency, took part in an export workshop for entrepreneurs from the Dnipropetrovsk region and gave a greeting speech in which she emphasized the importance of developing technology-intensive niches: from the deep processing of agricultural products to industrial engineering.
The event was organized by the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office, the national project “Diia. Business,” in collaboration with the Dnipropetrovsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with support from Switzerland through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation as part of the Economic Resilience Program for Ukraine (ERP).
The topic that brought everyone together was the entry of Ukrainian businesses into international markets. The event was not just an educational gathering, but a practical guide for more than 80 companies looking to scale up through exports.
Participants received a systematic understanding of how to prepare a business for international trade: from market selection to developing an export strategy and concluding contracts. Particular attention was paid to the practical support tools for exporters provided by the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office.
Practical presentations by the speakers provided clear answers to questions that concern businesses: how to choose a priority market, how to meet EU requirements, what CBAM is, and how it will affect exports. Particular emphasis was placed on technical regulations and product compliance with European standards – a topic that often acts as a barrier to entering international markets. Also important was the panel discussion involving business representatives who are already navigating the path of adaptation during the war. They shared practical examples of transforming production, logistics, and services, along with specific solutions that are working.
This intensive program served as an example of turning knowledge into action. For entrepreneurs, it is not just training, but an opportunity to rethink their approaches, discover new tools, and take a confident step toward international markets, even under challenging conditions. Events like this are shaping a new generation of Ukrainian business – flexible, competitive, and globally oriented.
