How to rebuild communities during wartime, where to find funds for development, and who can become partners in large-scale change—these were the topics discussed in Kryvyi Rih at an international partnership forum organized by the Kryvyi Rih city office of the “Servants of the People” party.
Participants included representatives of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, the Kryvyi Rih Regional Administration, local councils, educational institutions, medical facilities, and the business community. Some of the speakers joined online.
The main focus of the event was on how to attract more international support for the recovery of the Kryvyi Rih region and the development of the area in the context of the war. Participants shared their experiences, discussed successful case studies, and sought practical solutions for their communities.
During the first panel discussion, participants discussed the reconstruction of regions through collaboration among communities, the government, and investors. The second part focused on social resilience: from the role of universities and medical institutions to supporting small businesses and securing grants.
Yuliia Kniazyk, head of marketing and communications departament at the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Investment Agency, emphasized in her remarks that the investment attraction of the Kryvyi Rih region is based not only on its strong industrial potential but also on the ability of local communities to build partnerships and implement joint projects.
In the context of Ukrainian integration into the European Union, cohesion policy takes on particular significance. It involves a territorially oriented approach, the development of intermunicipal cooperation and functional connections, and the implementation of agglomeration mechanisms. This creates the conditions for attracting investment and implementing comprehensive initiatives.
Significantly, the Kryvyi Rih region already accounts for more than 35% of all foreign direct investment attracted to the Dnipropetrovsk region. This demonstrates the high level of trust that international partners have in the region. During the discussion, special attention was given to supporting entrepreneurship, tools for attracting grant funding, and practical examples of cooperation between communities and donors.
Partnership begins with dialogue. We are grateful to organizers for the invitation and for providing this professional platform.
