Ukraine’s trade turnover for the first seven months reached $82.2 billion

Ukraine’s trade turnover for the period January–July 2026 reached $82.2 billion. Over the six-month period, goods worth $58.1 billion were imported into the country, whilst exports totalled $24.1 billion. 

The countries from which the most goods were imported into Ukraine were: China — $16.8 billion, Poland — $5.5 billion, and Germany — $3.8 billion. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s largest export destinations were Poland — $2.8 billion, Turkey — $2 billion, and Italy — $1.5 billion.

Of the total volume of goods imported in January–July 2026, 73% fell into the following categories:

  • machinery, equipment and transport — $25.7 billion,
  • fuel and energy products — $8.5 billion,
  • chemical industry products — $8 billion.

The top three goods exported from Ukraine over the seven-month period were:

  • foodstuffs — $14.1 billion,
  • metals and steel products — $2.5 billion,
  • machinery, equipment and transport — $2.1 billion.

In the first half of the year, 8,883 million hryvnias were paid into the budget from customs clearance of exports subject to export duties.

It should be noted that, in 2025, Ukraine’s trade turnover stood at $125.1 billion. Last year, the country imported goods worth $84.8 billion and exported goods worth $40.3 billion. Taxed imports amounted to $64.3 billion (76% of the total volume of imported goods).

The State Statistics Service has estimated that Ukraine’s real GDP grew by 0.6% in the second quarter compared with the same period last year. Compared with the previous quarter, and taking seasonal factors into account, real GDP rose by 0.4%.
