At the beginning of the year, Ukrainian imports were almost twice as high as exports

In January-February 2025, Ukraine imported goods worth $11.3 billion and exported goods worth $6.3 billion.

At the same time, taxed imports amounted to $8.6 billion, which is 76% of the total volume of imported goods.

The tax burden per 1 kg of taxed imports in January-February 2025 amounted to $0.49/kg.

Countries from which Ukraine imported the most goods: China – $2.6 billion, Poland – $1 billion, and Germany – $841 million.

Ukraine exported the most to Poland – by $714 million, Spain – by $464 million, and Italy – by $449 million.

The following categories of goods accounted for 67% of the total volume of goods imported in January-February 2025

  • machinery, equipment and transport – $4.3 billion, UAH 26.3 billion was paid to the budget during customs clearance of these goods, which is 27% of customs revenues;
  • chemical products – $2 billion, UAH 15.8 billion was paid to the budget during customs clearance of these goods, which is 16% of customs revenues;
  • fuel and energy products – $1.4 billion, UAH 26.8 billion was paid to the budget during customs clearance of these goods, which is 28% of customs revenues.

The top three most exported goods from Ukraine are:

  • food products – $3.7 billion
  • metals and metal products – $624 million
  • machinery, equipment and transport – $568 million

In January-February 2025, UAH 41.2 million was paid to the budget during customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties.
