On March 21, 2019, the meeting of Valentyna Zatyshniak, Director of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Investment Agency (DIA), was held with representatives of Škoda Transportation Ukraine, which opened its first Ukrainian representative office in our region. The office in the city of Dnipro is engaged in railway and public transport projects for the parent company located in the Czech Republic.

“Today, “Škoda Transportation Ukraine” focuses on the development of engineering solutions for the installation of Škoda’s products in transport networks. The range of offers is wide and includes railroad locomotives, subway trains, high-speed passenger trains, trams and installation traction equipment in ready-made bodies of trams and trolley buses. But in order for all this to be realized, first of all, it is necessary to have qualified engineering personnel who are currently in short supply ”, – Kostiantyn Zhyzhko noted.

During the meeting, it was discussed promising areas of cooperation, namely: training qualified engineering staff in universities with the possibilities of using the dual training system, establishing cooperation with businesses and municipalities on the introduction of new technologies in urban electric transport.

The meeting resulted in a discussion of issues regarding the training of qualified engineering personnel, which also applies to domestic enterprises.
