For the fourth year in a row, Canada continues to provide Ukraine with large-scale military, financial and humanitarian assistance in response to the unprovoked full-scale invasion of the russian federation. Canada has consistently supported Ukraine in the international arena, condemning russian aggression and calling for increased sanctions pressure. To date, Canada has imposed restrictions on more than 3,000 individuals and entities involved in russian aggression.

It includes Leopard 2 battle tanks, combat support armored vehicles, anti-tank and small arms, M777 howitzers, drones with high-resolution cameras, winter gear, and more.
Canada is also actively involved in international efforts to train Ukrainian pilots for the F-16, as well as in technical support for these aircraft. In addition, the country has extended the mission of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) to provide military training to the Ukrainian military until March 2026. Since the launch of Operation UNIFIER, Canada has already trained more than 40,000 Ukrainian military personnel.

In 2024, foreign trade between Canada and Ukraine increased by 35.7% compared to 2022 and reached $369.5 million. This growth is partly due to the supply of military equipment and the activation of bilateral economic relations after the CUFTA update.
Ukraine’s exports to Canada increased by 55% to $152.1 million. The main products are sunflower oil, inorganic chemicals, and agricultural products. Imports from Canada amounted to $217.4 million, mostly military equipment, machinery, electronics, and vehicles.
The development of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation also remains an important priority for Dnipropetrovsk region. According to the digital resource DIABASE of Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency DIA, the level of export and import operations of the region with Canada demonstrates a high level of partnership, as the country is an important trading partner of the region.
According to the results of 2024, the volume of exports of goods from Dnipropetrovsk region increased by 2.8 times and amounted to $82.96 million. Among the products that are in greatest demand among Canadian consumers are inorganic chemicals, ferrous metal products, parts of railway locomotives, vessels, etc.
Export operations were carried out by more than 40 companies from Dnipropetrovsk region. The main exporting companies are chemical and light industry enterprises, metallurgical and engineering companies.
