Czech Sweetondale has finalized a deal to acquire three construction materials plants In particular, the company closed the deal to buy the mineral insulation plant in Cherkasy (the largest producer of insulation materials in Ukraine) and two plants producing polymeric insulation and bituminous-mineral materials in Kamianske of Dnipropetrovsk region
In the near future, it is planned to invest around EUR 3.5 million and extent the production capacity, which in the future will allow to increase the export of building materials by 10-15%..
According to Mr.Tychomyr Lelovics, Executive Director of Sweetondale company, by the end of 2018, it is planned to increase production to 1.5 million cubic meters of mineral insulation.
Since the conclusion of the agreement and the receipt of foreign investments, the geography of sales has been expanded – the markets of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland have become available. Today, products are available in 11 countries of the European Union, though up to 93% of the total turnover falls on the domestic market.
At the same time, he said that the total market volume in 2017 was 215,000 tonnes, and in 2018 it would increase to 230,000 tonnes. Prices for mineral wool for the year grew by 5-7%.
“The experience of developed countries shows that at the current level of construction industry development, the cost of heat in our homes can be reduced by more than 35%. One of the main instruments that enables the implementation of energy saving reserves is insulation with thermal insulation materials, which is currently relevant to all households in Ukraine. In this regard, the market for heat-insulating materials will continue to rapidly grow and is one of the priority areas for investment. According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, we see growth of the industry by 36%, and import, which is more than 32%, covers the existing deficit on the market”, Valentina Zatyshniak, director of DIA said.
For information: Sweetondale company was founded in 2012 by Harry Alan Stern. Firstly, it specialized in engineering and leasing of industrial equipment. In 2014, the company decided to switch to a production business. From 2018, Sweetondale is officially incorporated into the mineral isolation plant in Cherkasy, plant for the production of polymeric insulation, as well as a plant for the production of bituminous-mineral materials in the city of Kamianske.
The company exports 7% of its products to 11 European Union countries, as well as to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey and Moldova. The largest share of exports is in Romania and Moldova. The company plans to increase export by 10-15%.
