Doing business
On October, 26, 2017 a seminar “Support for Small and Medium Business” was held in Petropavlivka urban type settlement , on the initiative of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Investment Agency (DIA) and the support of Glib Prigunov, the chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.
The event was attended by the Head of the Department of Administration of Local Taxes and Fees, Environmental Tax and Rental Payments of the Service Area of the Western Donbass LTR of the Administration of Taxes and Fees of the Main Directorate of the State Fiscal Service in Dnepropetrovsk Region and the Head of the Association of Farmers and Private Landowners of Dnipropetrovsk Region in Petropavlivka district.
The seminar was attended by heads of small, medium and farm enterprises and specialists from the Petropavlivka District Council and the State District Administration.
The aim of the seminar was to reveal the potential of the communities in conditions of decentralization to create preferences for small and medium-sized businesses, farmers and cooperatives working in the territory of the community and to provide conditions for supporting their own investors and attracting external investors.
During the presentation, the Agency’s specialists focused the attention of audience on the specifics of support for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) of the district, namely, existing international and domestic SMEs support resources, mechanisms for applying preferences through optimization of the tax system for SMEs, available land resources for project implementation and existing preferential credit programs. One of such international projects is the Dnipropetrovsk CCI Business Support Center, created with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Considering the issues of strategic development of the communities, DIA specialists presented the investment component of the strategy, which can be realized through the creation of investment-attractive territories. Transparent information about the land, infrastructure and logistics resources of the community will allow to develop its own investment projects, SMEs projects and attract foreign investment.
One of the areas of territorial development is cooperation, in particular, unification of the community around one of the economic activities, such as milk, berries, storage of grain and vegetables, production of alternative energy or provision of tourist services. The stages of the creation of a cooperative organization, the skills of cooperative’s management, the functional division of roles are elements of the project supporting the cooperative movement, which is implemented by the Cooperative Academy for Cooperation of the Dnipropetrovsk regional public organization “Agricultural Advisory Service”.
The specialist of the Main Department of the State Fiscal Service in Dnipropetrovsk region in his speech on local taxes and fees detailed on the latest changes in the Tax Code aimed at providing a stable legal basis for the effective development of business activities in Dnipropetrovsk region.
