Doing business
Dnipro Metallurgical Plant (DMZ) is expanding its business by providing services to third-party companies. From now on, the company will carry out work on the manufacture and repair of metal structures, as well as laboratory research, which will provide additional financial resources, according to the corporate newspaper DCH Steel.
The Central Plant Laboratory (CPL) of DMZ, which includes a chemical laboratory, a mechanical testing laboratory and a coke production laboratory, is certified to perform measurements.
“The laboratories are provided with the necessary equipment for testing and sample preparation. They can determine the composition of iron and steel by spectral analysis, conduct tests to determine the mechanical properties of rolled products, check the quality of coal products, ferroalloys, refractories, lubricants and other materials,” said Sergiy Kunitsyn, head of the Central Laboratory.
In December-January, the chemical laboratory completed the first orders from two Dnipro enterprises to determine the chemical composition of materials. The results of the research provided the necessary test reports.
The Specialized Metallurgical Equipment Repair Shop (SMERS) is also expanding its activities. Thanks to qualified personnel and modern equipment, the shop manufactures complex metal structures, including building trusses, spatial columns, crane beams, metal platforms, stairs, large-diameter pipelines and non-standard tanks.
According to Oleksandr Vylyvanyi, DMZ’s chief mechanic and shop manager, the company already has experience of cooperation with Sukha Balka mine. Last year, it produced a unique skip and cage for the Yubileyna mine. Now the plant plans to expand its customer base.
Soon, DMZ will publish information about its services, certificates and cooperation opportunities for potential partners.
Dnipro Metallurgical Plant is one of the largest metallurgical enterprises in Ukraine. It is part of DCH Steel, a division of DCH Group. DMZ produces the largest range of channels and angles in Ukraine. Currently, the company is the only domestic producer of special profiles for the machine building and mining industries.
