The region’s economy continues to adapt to the conditions of martial law, which affects foreign trade. In 2024, the volume of foreign trade of goods in Dnipropetrovsk region reached $11.4 billion, which is 10.1% of the country’s total. Compared to 2023, trade turnover increased by 27.3%. The balance of foreign trade increased significantly and amounted to $532.9 million (compared to $284.7 million in 2023).
In 2024, enterprises of Dnipropetrovsk region increased their exports by almost 30%, supplying products worth $5979.1 million to foreign markets, which is 14.3% of Ukraine’s total exports. The region holds a leading position in terms of exports of ferrous metals, iron ore, and agricultural products, including oil, fats, and grains.

China became the leader among consumers of Ukrainian goods. Exports to this country increased by more than 8 times compared to 2023 and amounted to $912.5 million (15.3% of the region’s total exports).
Poland ranked second among the world consumers of the region’s products. Exports to the country decreased by 22.7% compared to last year. Exports amounted to $845.4 million (5.7%). Slovakia is in third place, with exports to it decreasing by 5.7% to $520.9 million (8.7%).
The volume of exports to Canada, China, France, Morocco, Greece, Israel, India, and Egypt increased significantly.
Imports of goods increased by 23.5% to $5446.3 million (7.7% of Ukraine’s total imports). This growth is attributed to economic recovery, increased demand for energy resources, revitalization of the consumer market, and increased demand for certain groups of goods needed in wartime. In particular, we are talking about machine building products, chemicals, medical equipment for rehabilitation, and equipment and machinery for modernization of industrial facilities.
Machinery and equipment, ferrous metals, mineral products, pharmaceuticals, and polymeric materials remain the most popular among domestic consumers.

Among the countries whose products are of most interest to Dnipropetrovsk region, China is the leader with positive dynamics (up 24.9%) with a volume of $1272.4 million. The second place is taken by Turkey, whose imports of goods increased by 14.6% to $569.3 million. Poland is in third place. Imports amounted to $424.0 million and increased by 16.4% compared to 2023.
Imports from Canada, Greece, Israel, the Czech Republic, and Norway increased more than in 2 times.
