Dutch NUNC Capital launches venture builder in Ukraine

European investment company NUNC Capital announced the launch of a new project in Ukraine – a venture builder that will invest 20 million euros in the development of Ukrainian defense technologies.

The company will create its own team in Ukraine to work directly with local startups: to look for promising ideas, help launch new projects and develop existing ones.

The goal is to combine Ukrainian innovations created during the war with the needs of the European defense sector. NUNC Capital believes that this will help strengthen the defense capabilities of European countries and at the same time develop Ukrainian technologies.

“We have been working with defense technologies for over 10 years. The events of recent years have shown that unique innovations are emerging in Ukraine. We want to help local teams and together create technologies that change the rules of the game,” said NUNC Capital CEO Bram Oostvogel.

The project will focus on areas where Ukraine already has strong expertise and Europe needs to strengthen:

  • electronic warfare (e.g., jamming enemy drones);
  • drones;
  • smart materials (e.g., armor that changes properties);
  • sensors and equipment for drones;
  • GPS-free communication and navigation.

NUNC Capital is a European venture capital firm headquartered in Amsterdam that has specialized in investing in defense tech and developing defense startups since 2013.

The company is a partner of the Ukrainian platform Brave1, which supports the development of military technologies, and part of the European Defense Tech community, which unites innovative defense businesses.
