The EIT Food innovation community, with the support of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), the European Union and Radar Tech, announces a call for applications for the Empowering Women in Agrifood online mentoring program for women in the agri-food sector. Participation in the program will help 10 participants gain the necessary knowledge to develop and scale their own business, as well as expand their network of useful contacts. The best business projects will have the opportunity to receive grant funding of EUR 5,000 and EUR 10,000 for entrepreneurship development.
The program will consist of the following stages:
- Mentoring support. Each program participant will receive a personal mentor – an experienced agribusiness professional who will help develop their business idea for 6 months. Mentors will share their expertise, knowledge, experience, and contacts, and help you overcome challenges and achieve your goals.
- Workshops (offline, online) from leading experts in the field of Agri Food and business. During the workshops, participants will refine their ideas, find out what Agri Food solutions are currently being invested in, get acquainted with the programs of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology EIT Food on opportunities to attract grants and investments for businesses and startups, and prepare to present their solutions to the jury and potential partners.
- Demo day and networking. Participants who successfully complete the program will have the opportunity to present their solution at an offline event in Kyiv to experts from the Agri Food industry, representatives of large businesses and key market players, receive professional feedback and compete for financial prizes of EUR 5,000 and EUR 10,000.
The program is being implemented simultaneously in different European countries and will bring together more than 500 agri-innovators.
Who is it for?
The program is open to adult women residents of Ukraine who:
- are founders of agrifood startups in Ukraine;
- have been running a business for no more than 3 years since its official registration;
- have a business idea in agrifood and want to implement it;
- have not previously received funding for the proposed idea (investments/grants) in the amount of more than EUR 60,000.
