Doing business
On November 14, 2018, Isabelle Dumont, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Ukraine, visited Dnipropetrovsk region at the head of the French business delegation.
The Ambassador began acquaintance with the region and its business environment from the meeting with Glib Prygunov, Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, and Valentyna Zatyshniak, Director of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Investment Agency (DIA).
The French business delegation included representatives of such famous companies as: CCIFU, Auchan, Credit Agricole, Ukrsibbank, Mas Seeds, Alfagro, Agro Kmr, Egis, Global Distirution, Schneider Electric, Big Board, Lactalis.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the state of bilateral political relations and stressed the significant potential of trade and economic cooperation, which has recently shown a tendency to grow and creates new prerequisites for increasing French investment in the economy of Ukraine and the Dnipropetrovsk region in particular.
According to the French side, the favorable moment for this is the success of Ukraine and the region in carrying out systemic reforms, namely, the decentralization reform and the electronic services system introduction.
«France supports Ukraine in its European integration aspirations. Our country is the 5th economy in the world and is leading in such sectors as industry, agriculture, logistics, aircraft manufacturing and the financial sector, so the presence of French business in the Dnipropetrovsk region is very important for us,» – Isabelle Dumont, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Ukraine said.
During the meeting, the French delegation was presented the Investment Passport of Dnipropetrovsk region, which highlights the region’s investment climate, an economic structure analysis, key features and investment priority areas, investment projects and offers, as well as areas for the investment projects implementation.
Priority areas for further cooperation between the Dnipropetrovsk region and France will be discussed on 15th November during panel discussions at the Dnipro Economic Forum DEF’2018.
