On April 25, the Interregional Conference “Green Solutions” Sustainable Future” took place in the city of Dnipro. The conference brought together more than 150 participants, including enterprises and companies from Dnipropetrovsk and Volyn regions, which introducing advanced “green” solutions, and also representatives of authorities and local governments of these two regions.
The event was held as part of the “Green Solutions” Sustainable Future” project, which is being implemented by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Employers’ Organization in partnership with the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Investment Agency (DIA) and Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council with support of the Program for the Promotion of Green Modernization of the Ukrainian Economy, which is being implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH).
“By signing the Association Agreement with the EU and joining the European Energy Community, Ukraine commits to adopt modern production standards and gradually introduce various forms of sustainable energy supply.
“Green economy” is one of the important tools for ensuring sustainable development of the country and solving the strategic issue on the efficient, rational and economical use of fuel and energy resources. The project “Green Solutions” Sustainable Future” is the idea embodiment of creating a regional platform to promote the dissemination of “green solutions” among business entities, students, population of Dnipropetrovsk region,” – Volodymyr Tiurin, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council said.
“I believe that the main achievements of the project are that the active and determined entrepreneurs of positive, strategic thinking and real leaders were found. They are striking for directing advanced knowledge, experience and energy to bring Ukrainian business to the forefront based on the principles of morality, ethics and patriotism. Thanks to the project, we have found like-minded people and support not only in our region, but also outside,” – Valentyna Zatyshniak, Director of DIA said.
Mrs. Dagmar Ecer, Head of the Program for the Promotion of Green Modernization of the Ukrainian Economy, which is being implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH), noted that she is pleased with the cooperation results with our region and is very impressed that we were able to achieve such high results in the implementation of innovative “green” solutions.
“The term of the “Green Solutions” Sustainable Future” project is coming to an end, but the Ukrainian-German cooperation does not end there and we hope that in the near future we will be able to implement many interesting projects in favor of sustainable development of our region,” – Valentyna Zatyshniak emphasized.
