On May 29, 2018, II Ukrainian-Chinese Economic Cooperation Forum was held in Kyiv. Forum was organized by the Chinese Overseas Development Association (CODA) and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The topic of the current Forum was the investment potential of Ukraine. The trade turnover between China and Ukraine for the year increased by 20%. China is ready to invest USD 7 bln into Ukrainian investment projects. But today the volume of investments from China is USD 18.2 mln, which is 0.05% of Ukraine FDI total volume.
At the same time, China participates in the construction of solar power plants in Ukraine. In particular, an agreement between DTEK and China Machinery Engineering Corporation for the construction of 200 MW solar power plant in Nikopol district was recently signed. In fact, this is China’s first investment in Ukraine.
China also declares its intention to invest USD 2.5 bln in domestic agribusiness and transport logistics, more than USD 2 bln in infrastructure projects, telecommunications networks, renewable energy and engineering.
During the event, the investment projects of companies, which are accompanied by Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency (DIA) were presented.
