Interpipe enters the market for pipes used in the production of drilling tools

Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe is expanding its presence in the machine-building market and entering the supply segment for the extractive industry. The company has fulfilled a trial order from a French manufacturer of drilling tools, supplying linear pipes in accordance with European standards, according to a press release.

The products have been successfully tested by the customer and confirmed their compliance with strict requirements. They will be used in the production of drilling tools for geological exploration, in particular during the drilling of wells in search of gold and copper deposits. Thanks to the successful completion of this order, Interpipe has been granted the status of an approved supplier of pipes for this type of work.

“The customer specified strict tolerances for pipe eccentricity and local straightness, which we successfully met. The chemical composition and mechanical properties also passed the tests,” said Yuriy Ilyushchenko, Interpipe’s special pipe sales manager.

The entry into this new segment was a continuation of the company’s strategy to diversify its portfolio and increase its share of supplies to high-tech industries. Interpipe currently supplies pipes for hydraulic systems, bearing manufacturing, and mechanical engineering. The new direction — spare parts for drilling equipment — opens up prospects for cooperation with international companies in the field of geological exploration and mineral extraction.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Interpipe recently supplied nearly 250 tons of seamless pipes for the construction of an offshore wind farm in the English Channel, near the French communes of Le Treport and Dieppe (Normandy). The customer was the company’s Spanish partner.
