Interpipe invests in the development of vocational technical education in Dnipro

Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has purchased equipment for training future machine operators at Vocational School No. 2 as part of the modernisation of vocational education institutions (VEI) in Dnipro. This is stated in the company’s press release.

‘The machine tool workshop has accepted its first students – future turners, milling operators and operators of computer numerical control (CNC) machines,’ the company said.

Interpipe purchased equipment for the new workshop that it uses in its own production, updated the curriculum and trained teachers. This is the main and fundamental difference between this workspace. Already during their studies, young people will gain knowledge and experience that they can apply in the workplace from day one.

‘For us, the modernisation of vocational schools is a consistent step towards developing the technical education ecosystem in Dnipro, without which it is almost impossible to overcome the shortage of specialists capable of operating modern automated equipment and managing industrial robots. That is why we invest not only in our own production but also in schools, universities and vocational training institutions,’ Interpipe emphasises.

The machine tool workshop was renovated thanks to the joint efforts of the company and the city authorities, who repaired the premises, shelter and part of the building.

During the war, the Ukrainian industry faced a significant shortage of personnel, especially men, due to mobilisation to the Armed Forces and poorly regulated reservations. Investing in the training of new skilled workers is an important component of the smooth operation of enterprises.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in June, Interpipe presented a major investment project worth about $1 billion at the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2024) in Berlin, which involves the expansion of green steel production facilities. This includes the construction of the second stage of the Interpipe Steel electric arc furnace complex and a green flat steel production shop.

Interpipe is a Ukrainian industrial company that manufactures steel pipes and railway products. The company’s products are supplied to more than 50 countries through a network of sales offices located in key markets in the Middle East, North America and Europe. In 2023, the company sold 387 thousand tonnes of pipe products and 95 thousand tonnes of railway products. Railway products are sold under the KLW brand.
