Doing business
The rolling mills of the Kametstal steel plant have begun production of a line of B500C class rebar for Romanian consumers.
As noted, at the end of last year, these products were successfully certified by the Romanian certification body ICECON.
Since the beginning of this year, Kametstal has already shipped more than 2.3 thousand tons of rebar with a nominal diameter of 8-25 mm to Romania.
The production of B500C class rebar according to the Romanian standard has a number of fundamental features, the company explained. In addition to specific geometric parameters, weight per running meter, and a unique caliber pattern, this rolled steel is distinguished by an extended range of mechanical properties. In particular, the products meet the increased requirements for strength and rigidity, which is critical for reliability in the EU construction industry.
The company is systematically expanding its sales geography, proving that Kametstal’s rolled products are competitive even in the most demanding markets.
Kametstal received a positive technical conclusion certificate for B500C rebar with a nominal diameter of 8-32 mm from the Permanent Technical Council for Construction of the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration of Romania.
Kametstal confirmed its leading position among Metinvest Group’s steel enterprises in terms of the number of new product ranges developed. Of the 11 new types of steel products launched by the company during the year, seven were developed and implemented by the team at this enterprise.
Among other things, in 2025, the rolling mill offered three new types of rolled products, including 8–32 mm diameter rebar for the Polish and Romanian markets. After certification in accordance with the building codes of these countries, more than 100,000 tons of B500SP class rebar were shipped to Poland last year.
