On January 31, 2019, at the initiative of Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency (DIA), with the support of Oleh Isaiev, Deputy Chairman of Regional Council for the Executive Office – Head of the Department of Ecology, Energy Saving and Investments and Investment and Innovation Center, a working meeting on the biogas power plant construction in the city of Kryvyi Rih was held in Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.
The reason for holding this meeting was the successful implementation of a similar investment project in the city of Dnipro by the company “Technology APS in Ukraine”.
During the meeting, Konstantin Kosianenko, Director of Kryvyi Rih City Development Institution, presented a project of silt deposit processing biogas complex construction at the Central Aeration Station No.1 of Kryvbasvodokanal. He noted that today project preliminary technical calculations have been carried out. The project provides for the 10 ha land plot allocation and is actively searching for investors.
In turn, Stanislav Kruhliak , Director of “Technology APS in Ukraine”, noted the presence of the necessary prerequisites for the successful project implementation. In particular, this company-investor is implementing the first project in Ukraine, based on DniproVodokanal. The biogas station capacity will be 4.8 MW. The raw material for power generation will be silt, which is formed after cleaning the waste water of DniproVodokanal. The project cost will be more than $ 11.2 mln. The term of the power plant launch is approximately July/August of 2019.
According to Stanislav Kruhliak, the processing result will be not only the electricity production, but also the environmental problems solution.
“Europe, Ukraine and China are interested in financing such projects, the whole this financial instruments consortium is interested in one thing: a transparent, understandable deal structure. We will be able to consider the possibility of project implementing a for the biogas power plant construction in the city of Kryvyi Rih with an increase in power from 2 MW. Our company is ready to provide comprehensive information and technical assistance. We are always open to dialogue.” – Stanislav Kruhliak noted.
“Projects implementation in the field of recycling with the electricity generation from alternative sources is a pressing issue for the region. We would especially like to draw the investors’ attention not only to metropolises, but also to the conglomeration of the region small towns. This problem concerns not only the processing of waste received after wastewater treatment, but also the MSW processing. We will strongly support the investor in these areas, especially using Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency (DIA) resource”, – Oleh Isaiev summed up.
