Metinvest-SMC company has shipped 1000 tons of rolled metal products for the construction of 66 passenger cars. The supplied rolled metal products include bent profiles, cold-rolled and hot-rolled sheets produced by Zaporizhstal, which are distinguished by increased flatness requirements. This is critically important for the accuracy of assembling car structures, as reported by agronews.ua.
In addition, as part of the order, passenger axles manufactured at Kametstal according to special drawings were supplied: this guarantees their compliance with strict safety and reliability standards, says Metinvest-SMC Key Account Manager Pavlo Bobrakov.
For the production of car bogies, over 200 tons of structural sheet metal were additionally imported, which was manufactured according to special requirements: this emphasizes the comprehensive approach of Metinvest-SMC to providing manufacturers with the necessary range of products.
Metinvest-SMC supplies play a key role in the modernization of the railway fleet of Ukraine. Cooperation with such large manufacturers as Kriukiv Railway Car Building Works (KVSZ) allows meeting the growing needs of Ukrzaliznytsia in new passenger cars.
“Ukrzaliznytsia and KVSZ have signed a new contract for the supply of 100 passenger cars. This agreement opens up new opportunities for further development of our cooperation. Today, contracts for over 2300 tons of rolled metal products have already been signed with KVSZ, confirming the strength and long-term nature of our partnership,” noted Andrii Kovalov, Regional Sales Director of Metinvest-SMC.
It is known that there are iconic objects around the world created with Metinvest steel. Among them are the world’s largest sailing ship Flying Clipper, the cultural space The Shed in New York, and the beloved place of lovers – the skyscraper The Shard in London. Metinvest steel was also used in the construction of the Olympic NSC and the glass pedestrian bridge in Kyiv, as well as in the construction of the sarcophagus for the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
Metinvest has also developed the concept of country revitalization called “Steel Dream.” It includes ready-made projects based on prefab solutions – prefabricated steel elements of structures. Projects for renovated residential quarters have already been developed for Mariupol and Bakhmut, as well as negotiations and adaptation work are underway with a number of other affected communities.
