Keskkonnainvestmentite Keskus (KIK) in cooperation with the Estonian Ministry of Climate is accepting applications for participation in the grant program for the implementation of Estonian green technologies in Ukraine. The initiative is aimed at implementing projects that contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and adaptation to climate change.
The amount of grant funding is from 30,000 to 200,000 euros. The total budget of the program is 947,000 euros.
About the program
The program will support activities to integrate solutions, knowledge, services and products developed in Estonia or abroad in Ukraine.
Conditions for submitting projects:
- Conformity with the goals of Ukraine’s climate policy and determination according to the OECD methodology.
- Duration of implementation – up to 36 months.
- Availability of a clear implementation plan, including budget, implementation time and expected results.
- Ensuring co-financing by the applicant in the amount of at least 10% of the total amount of eligible costs.
- The maximum level of support for the program is up to 90% of the total project budget.
- Particular attention is paid to initiatives in the Zhytomyr region, where there is already a developed network of partnerships between Estonian and Ukrainian organizations.
Support areas:
- Energy: renewable energy production, energy saving, energy storage.
- Waste management: waste treatment and utilization technologies.
- Transport: low-carbon transport, alternative mobility systems.
- Construction: emission reduction in construction, use of passive solar energy, local production of renewable energy.
- Agriculture: organic farming, sustainable crop and livestock farming.
- Forestry: carbon sequestration, agroforestry.
- Water management: rainwater collection, purification and distribution, drinking and wastewater treatment.
- Erosion and flood prevention: flood monitoring technologies.
- Disaster prevention: disaster monitoring systems.
- Information and communication technologies.
- Capacity building: training, public awareness, access to climate finance in accordance with Article 11 of the Paris Agreement.
For whom?
The grant program is open to applicants who:
- are legal entities registered in Estonia, including enterprises, state institutions and local governments;
- have a partner in Ukraine to implement the project.
