Taking into account the fact that Ukraine is resisting the full-scale military aggression of russia, Bahrain supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country, as it has repeatedly demonstrated during the voting for the relevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly.
Last year, King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain provided $1 million of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, expressing his readiness to act as a mediator.
In May 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, paid an official visit to Ukraine. This is the first visit by a Bahraini foreign minister to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in July 1992. During the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, the parties discussed the country’s participation in the post-war restoration of Ukraine, as well as its engagement in promising projects of cooperation in the humanitarian and economic spheres. Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Bahrain to take part in the Ukrainian “Peace Formula”, in particular to join the implementation of its individual points and the upcoming Peace Summit.
During his visit to Ukraine, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani visited the territories affected by the military aggression of the russian federation, where he saw with his own eyes the terrible consequences of the russian aggression.
Bahraini businesses are considering participating in investment projects, including the state’s large-scale privatisation programme. The aluminium industry and digital technologies, especially in the creation and use of digital intelligence, are promising for the country’s representatives..
The development of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation also remains an important priority for both countries. An analysis of export and import operations of the Dnipropetrovsk region with the Kingdom of Bahrain demonstrates the increasing level of partnership.
According to the results of 2022, the export of goods from Dnipropetrovsk region to the Kingdom of Bahrain amounted to $0.42 million and increased more than twice compared to 2021. Bahraini companies bought meat products, ore and slag, grain products, etc.
3 companies in Dnipropetrovsk region exported their products to the Bahraini market, including agricultural and mining companies.
Imports of goods from Bahrain to Dnipropetrovska oblast decreased by 60% compared to 2021 and amounted to $50.5 thousand.
2 importers in the region bought inorganic chemicals and aluminium and articles made of it.
