On July 2, 2019, on the initiative of the Head of the NGO “Korean Community “Asadal” Peter Pak and the Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency (DIA), a working meeting was held with the leadership of the Korean company SAMWHAN Power (CO.LTD), CEO Mr. Jeong-Gwon Yun and his deputy, Mr. Kim Young Chan.

The company is interested in acceding the Ukrainian market also as an investor. The SAMWHAN Power (CO.LTD) projects portfolio has over 10 successful urban lighting stories. The latest street lighting modernization project was implemented in 2016 in the following Brazilian states: Santa Catarina and Parana. Cooperation with local authorities is carried out in the form of energy service contracts for 30 years.

During the meeting, the Head of the SAMWHAN Power (CO.LTD) Company made an investment proposal for the implementation of energy efficient lighting systems in the localities of Dnipropetrovsk region. The use of Korean LED technology will encourage up to 60% of electricity costs. With the adoption of cooperation in cities of our region with the Korean company in the form of energy service contracts, SAMWHAN Power (CO.LTD) will invest in the production of LED lamps in Dnipropetrovsk region.

According to the results of the meeting, Valentina Zatyshniak suggested the Korean side to send a commercial proposal on the mechanism of cooperation of investor-community to consider possible cooperation with the cities of the region. In its turn, DIA will provide SAMWHAN Power (CO.LTD) Company with information on the legislative basis for energy service contracts in Ukraine.
