On March 11, 2019, Valentyna Zatyshniak, Director of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Investment Agency (DIA), took part in a round table with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ACC), in order to present the investment potential of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
“Compared with other Ukrainian regions in 2018, Dnipropetrovsk region is: first in terms of the volume of industrial products sold (in Ukraine); first place (among regions): in terms of capital investments, in terms of direct foreign investments ($ 3.6 bln) and in the volume of goods export; fourth place in terms of sales of agro-industrial products. More than 35 large foreign companies have already chosen the region and successfully conduct their business here. In 2017, the Turkish company Beta Kimyasal (production of plastic windows) began its work in the region. In 2018, the Czech company SWEETONDALE entered the building materials production market. Canadian company TIU Canada in 2018 put into operation SES with a capacity of 10.5 MW. Dnipropetrovsk region is interested in expanding the list of companies that invest in the region. Of particular interest to the region are American investments, ” noted Valentyna Zatyshniak, director of DIA.
Oleksii Ivanchenko, regional representative of UkraineInvest office in Eastern Ukraine, highlighted that “Dnipropetrovsk region is a leader in many areas of attracting investments among other Ukrainian regions. In turn, investment agencies play a key role in establishing cooperation with potential investors. Thanks to the work of DIA the Dnipropetrovsk region has much more opportunities in attracting investors, because UkraineInvest’s office and foreign companies are turning to DIA to search for land or investment objects in the Dnipropetrovsk region. ”
Nataliia Chervona, Head of ACC Business Development Department, noted that “74% of member companies of the American Chamber of Commerce saw an increase in their business in Ukraine in 2018; three quarters predict further growth in 2019, according to the results of our last survey. Therefore, the ACC is interested in deepening bilateral cooperation and, as a result, increasing investment in the Dnipropetrovsk region”.
Nibulon Company presented its own investment projects in the field of agricultural logistics, which are implemented in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In particular, this is a grain river terminal (Marianske village , Nikopol district) and a rail terminal (Varvarivka village, Yurivka district) with a capacity 75 tons each.
Practical experience of attracting foreign investment will be presented to the participants during a visit to the companies Bunge Ukraine (Dnipropetrovsk Oil Extraction Plant Oliina TM) and the Noosphere Association which doing business in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
